Weather and climate can be investigated at unprecedented levels of accuracy thanks to advances in nonlinear dynamics, especially modern multifractal cascade models that broadly generalize turbulence scaling laws. These research advances, that will be implemented in the framework of RainGain, are the subject of “The Weather and Climate: Emergent Laws and multifractal cascade” published by Cambridge University Press.
The book has been presented yesterday at EGU 2013 by the authors Shaun Lovejoy (McGill University, Montréal) and Daniel Schertzer (Ecole des Ponts ParisTech).
